What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Prior to commencing this project I had no experience of taking photographs in a professional manner, and very little experience editing them in a programme like photoshop. The camera I used was a 10.2 mega pixel fujifilm camera.
Whilst creating the magazine I took a steep learning curve on how to use photoshop. I quickly learnt how to edit size, place photos, fade edges and write text on a page.

Evaluation 5
How did you attract/address your audience?
I didn't want my magazine to be labelled in a specific genre so I decided that I would create it with a plain background the focus would be on the photo in the middle. I made all the writing bold and contrasting to draw the attention of the audience. I kept the front cover quite plain and uncluttered so as not to look untidy and overload the reader.

Evaluation part 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A media institution that would distribute my magazine would be a record company, related radio or television show. For example, 'KERRANG!' have their own magazine, music channel and radio station all of which distrubute the same genre of music at the same target audience.

Evaluation part 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Front Cover.
I chose to base my magazine in a mix of 'Q' and 'KERRANG!'. My fornt cover has a photo of a couple, one holding a guitar the other holding a microphone both wearing a black top and blue jeans to show a sense of unity. I then edited out the background to make it a plain grey colour so the focus was on the couple. I then put a plain title 'REVERB' at the top of the page with no border around it. I chose to do this because i thought that with the grey background, the title stood out as it was a dark colour. I then put a white box at the bottom of the page with band names in to give it an authentic look corresponding with 'KERRANG!'. I then created 3 slogans over the main photo saying 'Move over Gaga... Why Not Tonight?...Is here to stay.' I chose to put the first and the last in a different font and colour to 'Why Not Tonight?'. I chose to do this as it broke up the sentence and brought attention to the band name as does other magazines. I then chose to put another photo of three girls at the bottom of the page in a black box, one dressed as a police officer and the other two as robbers. I then added a caption next to this photo stating that 'Cops'n'Robbers' are in for an exclusive interveiw. I added this because i thought it would add some thing to the page as it looked quite bare just with the photo of the couple.
The Contents Page
When doing my contents page I chose to do it similar to the 'KERRANG!' contents. Plain white background. Black boxes with yellow titles describing the contents of the magazine. I then put a large photo of the same couple taking up a quarter of the page to show that they are the focus of the magzine.
The Double Spread Page
I decided that the photos should reflect the contents of the article. I thought that they should be completely different from the photos in the rest of the magazine. I saw that in some of the magazines the photos overlap easch other, I copied this technique.

Evaluation part 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my product would be teenagers who are interested in the rock/punk rock genre of music. I chose this audience because most of the people who buy magazines like 'KERRANG!' tend to be people aged between 13-20 who are interested in the particular genre of music. My magazine would be sold at newsagents and shops such as blue bannana as this shop corresponds to the contents of the magazine.

Evaluation part 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My product represents a rock/punk rock social group because of the contents of the magazine. The bands/artists featured in the magazine show the type of musical influence this particular group with their apperance and musicla technique. I have also used a lot of dark and contrasting colours like black, white, red and yellow. Using this technique draws the eye to ward the titles and in triuges the reader into reading the article itself.
